Jane Harriss Boles, 92, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital with her loving family surrounding her in Love. She was born to Malvern Palmer and Marvin Ray Harriss in Charlotte, NC on June 23, 1920. Upon her Mother's death at the age of 6 she was gladly taken as daughter by her Grandmother and Grandfather, Dr. and Mrs. Henry Ray. She graduated from Central High School and Queen's College in Charlotte. Her first career was in the banking industry with American Trust Co. (Now Bank of America) and then Union National (now First Union). In 1941, she married Morris Boles from Pinnacle, NC and they made their home in Charlotte, NC until 1949 at which time they moved to Winston-Salem and then to Pinnacle in 1952. Mr. Boles died in 1976 and she has continued to live in Pinnacle. She was very active in her Community, school and church. She is a 50 year member of the King American Legion Auxiliary and served for many years as president. Other activities include Boy Scouts of America, Ruritan (Charter Member of Pinnacle Club and held Treasurer position for many years). She has been a member of the Pinnacle United Methodist Church since 1955 (58 years) and served on many committees and was Church Treasurer until the age of 90. Her career changed to the world of dentistry where she worked with Dr. Issac Booe and Dr. John Masten, until retirement. Her greatest achievement was as the loving caring role of Mother and Grandmother. Three children, Nancy Brady (Ricky), daughter of Pinnacle, NC; Vicki Boles Wray, daughter of Mt. Airy, NC and son, John Morris Boles (Nancy) of Carolina Beach, NC. Sister, Margaret Tyson, Norwood, NC. Grandchildren: Robert Brady of Pinnacle, NC, Elizabeth Brady Howard (Erik) of Pinnacle. Amber Keown (John) of Charlotte, NC, Heather Wise (Chris Secrist) of Wilmington, NC. Also four great-grandchildren, Emma Howard and E.J. Howard of Pinnacle, NC and Kayla Wise and Dylan Wise of Wilmington, NC. Special nieces and nephews, Michael and Patty Moran of Pinnacle, Carolyn Moran, of Winston-Salem, John Griffin of Fayetteville, NC, Jean and Andrew Backus, of Austin, TX, Stephen and Adrienne, Jay and Hannah Holt of Summerville, SC; Bobby and Claudia Etri, of Austin, TX. She had so many friends that she held dear to her heart as she loved all living things. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband, brothers and sister. The family will receive friends and family at Cox-Needham Funeral Home, Pilot Mountain on Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The body will be taken to lie in state at Pinnacle United Methodist Church from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Pinnacle United Methodist Church on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dianne Marsden and Rev. Lori Anne Bowen officiating. Burial will be in the Pinnacle Methodist Cemetery following the service.
