1900: Thomas J. Isbell and wife Brazelia lived in Fannin County, Texas. The census gives his birth as Jan 1855. His mother "Jane Culver," widow (born Oct. 1823 TN) lived with them (Susannah Jane Culver Isbell Culver). However, the census lists her relationship to head of household as "mother-in-law." Evidently the census taker thought Susannah was Brazelia's mother.

T.J. Isbell of Lakeview Dies At Age Of 80
Was County Resident Over 20 Years; Ten Children Survive
Thomas J. Isbell, 80 years of age, died at his home seven miles south of Lakeview Thursday morning, October 19, at 9 o'clock, following an illness that lasted for several weeks.
Funeral services for the aged Hall County citizen were conducted from the Lakeview Church of Christ Friday afternoon November 20, at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Roy S. Ruckman, Lakeview pastor. Interment was in the Lakeview Cemetery with Hodges Funeral Home of Memphis directing.
Pallbearers were Willie Benton, James Dixon, J.B. Crabb, John Molloy, G.D. Dunn, and Tom Crabb.
Mr. Isbell was born October 25, 1856, in Tennessee. He moved to Hall County 23 years ago. He had been a member of the Church of Christ for many years.
Survivors are four daughters, Miss Effie Isbell and Miss Grace Isbell of near Lakeview, Mrs. Ida Ledger of Earth, Mrs. Pearl Maddera of Whitesboro; and six sons, Clyde, Joe, and Hubert of near Lakeview, T.J.Jr. of Arizona, J.M. of Fort Worth, and G.B. Isbell of Gordon.
Among the out-of-town relatives attending the funeral were Charles and W.D. Isbell of Borger, Mrs. Ida Ledger of Earth, Elmer Ledger, and G.B. Isbell of Gordon.
