Buddy was born in Nicholas County on Oct 6, 1923, to Elmer Clay Mitchell and Mabel Hughes Mitchell. He was a former employee of the State Highway Road Department and a member of the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church of Cowan.
Surviving are his wife; 10 children; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Cox; two sisters, Evelyn and Dorothy Mitchell; and a grandson, Christian Mitchell; and a great-grandson, Bradley Judge; and a very special friend, Melvin Doyle.
