"The LaFayette Sun" - August 4, 1937:

J. A. (Ab) Looser Died Monday Afternoon, 2nd.

J. A. (Ab) Looser, age 70 years, died at his home at Beat Four of this county on Monday afternoon of this week at four o'clock following a stroke of paralysis.

J. A. Looser was one of the best known men of Chambers County, living in that section of the county all his life where he had been a well-to-do farmer. He was a member of the Ebenezer Methodist Church and enjoyed the fellowship of a wide circle of local people.

Funeral services were held from the Pleasant Grove Christian Church on Tuesday afternoon with Rev. J. D. Kaylor, of Heflin, a former pastor, being the officiating minister, and assisted by Rev. G. D. Hunt, of Roanoke, and Rev. Ed Rodgers, Baptist minister of Langdale. Former Senator J. Thos. Heflin, whose friendship for the deceased was of long standing, and a friendship which had carried them down through the years, spoke feelingly of his friendship for the departed. His words concerning his departed friend were comforting to his grief stricken family and hundreds of friends who had gathered at the Pleasant Grove Church.

Interment was in the Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery.

Surviving are a widow, Eliza Burnett Looser, and one son, Rube Looser. An only daughter, Mrs. Guy Ison, died in 1931.
