Born in Iowa, Vogel came to Oklahoma with his parents in 1900, settling in Union City. In 1925, following his marriage, the family moved to Banner.
In 1945, he moved to Yukon, working for the Yukon Mill & Grain Co. until 1948. He was a member of the Yukon Baptist church and was a Mason.
Survivors are his wife, Lucille, and daughter, Mary, both of the home; a son, John, a student at Tulsa university; four brothers, Louie, Amarillo, Texas; Ben, of Union City; George, Chickasha, and John, of Edmond; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Peterson, Merrifield, Minn., and Mrs. Florence Buird, of El Reno.
