Peter Connelly, aged 58, died at his home in Ontario Street oil Friday morning from paralysis. The deceased was lock-tender near the Hunter Arm's factory and was engaged in locking a boat through on Thursday evening when he was seen to fall, and upon investigation, it was found that he had sustained a stroke of paralysis. He was removed to his home and Dr. Hall called, but it was impossible to do anything to prolong life. He is survived by his widow and six children, James; John; Anna; Elizabeth; Frank and Michael. The funeral was held from his late home on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock.

Peter Connelly was the third child of Michael Connelly and Ellen McAvoy Connelly, and was born Mar 10, 1845 at the family home in the village of Fulton. Peter married Isabella Cassidy on December 24, 1870 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception Fulton, New York. The Connelly's would make their home at the old family homestead, 319 Ontario Street, Volney township, Oswego County. The family would include nine children, Mary Ellen, 1871; Jane, 1872; James Peter, 1873; John Thomas, 1876; Anna L., 1881; Elizabeth, 1883; Francis L., 1885; Michael A., 1886; and Alice A., in 1888
