Mrs. Naomi Melissa Blagg Botkin, of Doe Hill, a centenarian, died Sunday morning, Dec. 10 at her home. Mrs. Botkin, who lived her entire life at Doe Hill, celebrated her 100th birthday April 16 of 1967 and had been confined to a chair and her bed for only the past few years. She was the widow of G. Lee Botkin, a farmer and auctioneer, who died in 1938 She was a member of the Doe Hill Methodist Church for 88 years. Born April 16, 1867, she was a daughter of James H. and Amanda Vint Blagg. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Brooks (Edna) Beverage of Monterey, and Mrs. Lena Varner of Doe Hill; two sons, Walter Botkin, of Doe Hill, and G. Marvin Botkin of McDowell; two sisters, Mrs. Emily Propst, of Deerfield, and Mrs. Martha Price, of Millboro; 20 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 28 great great grandchildren. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. Ulysis Rhea from the Doe Hill Methodist Church at 2 p. m. Tuesday, Dec. 12. Interment was in the Doe Hill Cemetery with Obaugh Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
