THAT BURTAL MURDER

The Body of Chauncey West Buried in Ogden Monday.

The news of the brutal murder last week of Conductor Chauncey W. West by a tramp whom he ejected from his train near Butte aroused great indignation here against such cold-blooded assassinations. The assassin was captured and barely escaped lynching. He is now in jail strongly guarded. Many kind words of sympathy for the bereaved family were heard on all sides. The wife of the deceased, vee Sylvia Snow, was formerly one of Brigham City's fairest, daughters. She has numerous relatives here. Saturday night A. E. Snow, a brother of Mrs. West, went to Butte and accompanied the family on their sad trip to Ogden, where the body was interred, Monday . Apostles Lorenzo Snow, F. D. Richards and Geo. Q. Cannon were the speakers at the services. Mr. West was very popular in Ogden, and the funeral train was one
of the largest ever seen in the Junction City. The family have universal sympathy.
