Russell Abeyta 54, formally of Fountain passed away at his Colorado Springs home on December 7, 2009.
Russ was born in Canon City, CO.
Russ served in the U.S Army in the early 70's. He was a retired Auto Mechanic for Sears, and he also owned his own tile business. Russ is survived by his father Augustin Abeyta; a sister; 2 brothers; 2 children; his ex-wife, & grandchildren; also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
Russ was preceded in death by his mother Lena Atencio Abeyta, sisters Bulah, Beatrice and a brother Joseph.
Russ loved fishing, working on cars, and spending time with his dog Butch. Russ was a loyal and honest man. He was the kind of man that would give anything that he had to those that were in greater need. Russ was loving and compassionate and will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service will be held December 17, 2009 at 12:30 pm at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary 6630 S. Hwy 85/87 Fountain, CO.
