Jimmie Lamb Ibbotson was born July 5, 1924 in Cooper, Texas and lived in Dallas, Texas for over 60 years passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013. She graduated from East Texas State University in 1945 with a degree in Business Administrating. In 1951, she married James T. (Jim) Ibbotson at First United Methodist Church in Dallas. Jimmie worked at many local businesses and retired from Southern Methodist University. She is survived by her son, James Thomas (Tom) Ibbotson, and daughter Julia Ann Disner (Julie) and her husband Larry. She had four grandsons, Jeffrey (Jeff) Disner of St. Louis MO, Benjamin (Ben) Disner, his wife Kara and great-grandsons Austin and Drake Disner of Murphy, TX., grandsons Thomas and Paul Ibbotson, granddaughter, Elizabeth and their mother Barbara Volk Ibbotson of Dallas, Texas. Jimmie was preceded in death by her brothers Lahoy, Marvin Lee, Bill, Paul Lamb and her sisters, Joyce Barmon, Lila Van Gennep and Edith Bleything. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families, who were very special to her. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 02, 2013 at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 03, 2013 at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
