Addison represented the town of Chester in the Vermont legislature 1876 - 1878. He served as Justice of the Peace and overseer of the poor.
A death announcement was published in the Vermont Journal (Windsor, Vermont) on September 4, 1888. "Addison Adams, for many years a prominent and efficient town officer, died Tuesday morning after a long illness, aged about 74.""=
