Rosanna L. Derr, 86, formerly of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry A. Derr. They had been married for 67 years.
She was the daughter of the late Everett Northup and Mary (Jones) Northup.
Born in East Greenwich, Mrs. Derr remained in town for most of her life, raising a family of five children with Harry. The couple moved to North Kingstown about 15 years ago.
In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Derr worked in the jewelry business and served as a school bus monitor in East Greenwich.
Mrs. Derr loved spending time with family and enjoyed going on camping trips and attending family gatherings.
Mrs. Derr is survived by two sons, Dennis Derr and his wife, Marilyn, of North Kingstown, Jason Derr and his wife, Erica Malinowski, of Potowomut; and two daughters, Judy Ford and her husband, Charles, of North Kingstown, and Betsy Derr of East Greenwich. She was predeceased by her son, Larry Derr.
Mrs. Derr is also survived by her grandchildren, Jessica Millette and her husband, Matthew; Michael Derr and his wife, Elysabeth; Heather Ford-Driscoll and her husband, James; Jai Cowan; Alicia Derr and Jacob Derr. She was the great-grandmother of Lola Cowan, Theodora Derr, Katelyn Millette and Joshua Millette.
