Alice Ramirez, 53, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at a local hospital with family at her side. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Bhaskar Menden officiating. Burial will follow at Abilene Municipal Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. A rosary will be said 6:30 p.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church Hall, followed by a wake at 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Ramirez was born January 10, 1960 in Sweetwater, Texas to the late Manuel and Petra Guajardo Ramirez. She lived in Abilene most of her life and was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church where she served as a Guadalupana. She graduated from Abilene High and was a Certified Dietary Manager. Mrs. Ramirez worked for Abilene Regional Medical Center and part time at Lucy's Restaurant. She will be dearly missed by all her loved ones and her long time pet chow companion "Zui Zui."

Survivors include her husband Edward Sheppard ; three sons, Shawn Sheppard of Abilene, Joseph Sheppard of Arlington and Demartrick Garrett of Abilene; two brothers, Henry Ramirez and John Campos, both of Austin; four sisters, Margaret Rodriguez of San Antonio, Nellie Ramirez, Angie Campos and Mary Ramirez Conner, all three of Austin; two grandchildren, Nehemiah Gabriel Sheppard and, expectant, J'sun Prince Sheppard.

Mrs. Flores was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Georgie Ramirez; and a niece, Regina Ann Campos.

Pallbearers will be Michael Guajardo, Marcus Jimenez, Gabriel "Bubba" Jimenez, John Campos, Henry Ramirez and Adam Campos.
