"Della Long Purkey, 79, of Bean Station died Sunday, April 4, in Statesville, N.C.
A member of First Independent Freewill Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Purkey; sons, Charlie and Jerry, and daughter, Agnes.
Surviving are her sons, Elbert Purkey of Bean Station and Roy Purkey of Morristown; daughter, Janice McDaniel of Statesville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Edna Bush of Bean Station, and brother, Frank Long of Bean Station.
Funeral services were set for Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Independent Freewill Baptist with Rev. Clifford Dalton and Rev. Boyd Myers officiating.
Burial in Meadow Branch Cemetery.
