DeMERCHANT, GEORGE - Of Tobique Narrows, age 82, passed away at the St. Joseph Hotel Dieu Hospital on November 1, 2002. He will be fondly remembered by his wife Emily DeMerchant (Tatlock); his sister Marguerite Johnston of Perth-Andover; brothers Stewart (Roberta) of Perth-Andover, Stephen (Shirley) of Perth-Andover, Leo (Dorothy) Ottawa; his friend David (Vioda) Burrell of Riverview. He was predeceased by his son DeVerne DeMerchant and his brothers Jack and Bernard DeMerchant. George was a member of the Perth-Andover Wesleyan Church and a well known marathon runner. He was also a lifetime member of the MAH-SOS Sports Complex. Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2002 at 2 pm from Perth-Andover Wesleyan Church. Rev. Ryan Farrell officiating. Interment in Lerwick Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to Southern Victoria Cancer Assistance Fund would be appreciated by the family.
