Cornelius McElwee, 77, died Saturday morning at his home near Lake Silkworth following a 10 days' illness. He was born in Hazleton, the son of John and Rose McElwee, and had been a resident of this section for more than 50 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth.
Mr. McElwee followed farming most of his life. Surviving are his wife, Susan, and the following children: Aloysius McElwee of Nanticoke; Margaret and Rose McElwee, both registered nurses of Philadelphia; James McElwee of Brooklyn, and Mrs. J. C. Genewski of Plains. He also leaves seven grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Moye of Leeds, N. D., and Sister Mary Anina of the Sisters of Mercy Order, Cresson Pa.
