A West Nanticoke man, Al J. McElwee, 14 N. Mill St., was pronounced dead on arrival at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital yesterday after suffering a heart attack at his home.
He was born at Lake Silkworth, lived in West Nanticoke the last 50 years and was a retired carpenter. He was a World War I veteran. He was a member of St. Francis Church and Nanticoke Post 350, American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Keck; son, Carl, west Chester; daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Gross, Kingston; sisters, Margaret and Rose McElwee, Philadelphia; Mrs. Theresa Genewski, Kingston; seven grandchildren.
Funeral will be held Monday at 9 from Kearney Funeral Home, 22-24 Prospect St., Nanticoke. with Requiem Mass at 9:30 in St. Francis Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Viewing Saturday, 7 to 9 and Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m.
