He was born August 26, 1921, in Vilas to Fowl Henry and Nora Earp Hollar. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a retired foreman from the City of Greensboro Water and Sewer Department after 24 years of service. He was a member of Brushy Fork Baptist Church and former member of Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Greensboro.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lora Green Hollar, five sisters, and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at Brushy Fork Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Wilson Stewart and Reverend Ray Minton. Burial followed in the Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens.
