Margaret was born in Liberty Hill to Robert and Roxie Barker, the youngest of 14 children. She lived in the Liberty Hill area her whole life. Some of her happiest years were spent living on the family ranch near Jonestown. She enjoyed the outdoors and tending to her plants and animals, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Margaret was a member of the Liberty Hill Church of Christ. She was a giving person and worked tirelessly to help her family, friends, and neighbors. She will be greatly missed by all who came in contact with her.
Her adult son, David Price, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Glenn Monroe of Liberty Hill; her only surviving sibling, Mrs. Novella Walker of Georgetown; her daughter, Peggy L. Sofyanos and husband John of Lakeway; and her son, Scott T. Monroe and wife Dena of Cedar Park. Additionally, there are six grandchildren Kurt, Stephanie, Jennifer, Brandi, Erin and Lauren, and four great grandchildren. She also leaves many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Cook Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, February 21, 2011 in the chapel of the Cook Walden Davis Funeral Home. There will be a private family graveside service to follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery.
