Graveside services for Marvin B. Fikes, 102, Seminole, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada, the Rev. Lester Myers conducting rites.
Mr. Fikes died Monday at a Seminole nursing home. He was born March 1, 1885 in Jasper, Alabama to Ramsey and Betty Tucker Fikes. He moved at the age of 4 or 5 to Hot Springs, Arkansas, from Alabama by covered wagon. In 1936 he moved to Pecan Grove near Ada and to Seminole in 1956.
He was a carpenter and a farmer; and was a mason in Arkansas and a member of Odd Fellows for years.
On January 1, 1911 he married Annie Turner in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Survivors include his wife, Annie, Seminole; one son, Henry Lee Fikes, Norman; one daughter, Daisy Mayfield, Seminole ; one brother, Johnny Fikes, Benton, Arkansas; one sister, Elsie Jennings, Little Rock, Arkansas; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Swearingen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
