Daniel was born in either Chester Township or Chester County, Pennsylvania. He married Maria Catherine Grob and later moved to Frederick County, Maryland. It was assumed he died and was buried in Graceham, Frederick County, Maryland until the following will was found.

John Fry & Isaac Dicken Executors of the Estate of Daniel Fry decd
Will proven and letters Testamentery granted J.C.
At a court of common pleas held in the Court House in Coshockton, within and for the County of Coshockton, in the state of Ohio, before the honorable Alexander Harper Esq. Judge of said courts and Mordicai Chalfant, Thomas Johnston and Henry Grim Esq. Associate Judges of the said court for the said county at the term of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven
The last will and testament of Daniel Fry deceased was produced to the court here, and read in the words and figures following to wit –
In the name of God Amen, The 17th day of March in 1 thousand eight hundred and twenty three - I Daniel Fry of Perry Township Coschockton County and State of Ohio, tailor, being weak of body, but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God: therefore . . . this my last will and testament: . .
I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form –
First I give and bequeath to my son John Fry one dollar and also to my son Enoch Fry one dollar, and to my daughter Ann Jane one dollar lawful money of the United States, to be ? and ? out of my estate, and all the rest and residue of my estate after paying my just debts I give and bequeath to the rest of my children, namely , Abraham Fry, Mary Ginter, Jacob Fry, Daniel Fry, Elizabeth Gump, Henry Fry and Margaret (Yosler, Bosler, ?), to be equally divided among them and also constitute and ordain my beloved Son John Fry and Isaac Dicken my sole Executors of this my last will and testament. . . .

Presented the 23rd day of Nov 1827
He traveled from Frederick County, Maryland to Cumberland Valley, Bedford Pennsylvania, and then on to Perry, Coshocton County, Ohio where he died. It appears that he may have had two wives the first one perhaps dying in Frederick County, Maryland. According to his will he was a tailor by trade. John Daniel's son Abraham Fry married Susanna Ginther and John Daniel's daughter Mary Barbara Fry married Christian Frederick Ginther. The Ginthers were brother and sister, their father being Peter Ginther. Abraham Fry and Mary Ginter are both mentioned in his will.
