She was born Jan. 31, 1918, in Girard, the daughter of Peter and Agnes Archibald Forbes. She married J.E. "Nick" Lynch in 1940 in Mexico, Mo.; he died in 1999.
Mrs. Lynch owned and operated Mary's Dress Shop in Virden for many years. She graduated from Girard High School in 1936 and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Virden and a former member of the Virden Area Association of Commerce.
Survivors: two sons, Fred R. (wife, Juanita) Lynch of Fort Worth, Texas, and James E. Lynch of Orange, Calif.; two daughters, Jody (husband, Larry) Bearden of St. Peters, Mo., and Susan M. (husband, Mike) Quinn of Virden; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Calvert and Ferry Funeral Home, Virden, the Rev. Ron Grimes officiating. Burial: Girard Cemetery, Girard.
