Johanna Wilhelmina Schmidt married Franz Joseph "Frank" Fehlinger, son of Michael and Margaretha [nee Geeb] Fehlinger. This was probably her first marriage. She came to the US in 1863 with him, her daughter by a first relationship, Louisa, and another child - Marie, daughter of her and Franz. Her surname had been Schmidt and that was also the surname of her daughter, Louisa. It appears she had had another child prior to marrying Franz whose name was Johann. He was born 1857/1858 and died 1858/1859. In his death records, his parents' names were given as Michael and Margaretha Fehlinger but they would have been too old to be his parents and were probably his step-grandparents.
