Beverly "Bev" Johnston, 79, of DuBois, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Jefferson Manor.
She was born Feb. 24, 1934, the daughter of the late Clair and Mabel Kerry Rugh.
On July 27, 1957, she married Albert Johnston, who passed away Aug. 4, 2008.
Bev was a graduate of DuBois High School and worked for DRMC Dietary.
She was Methodist by faith. She enjoyed gardening, baking, collecting beanie babies and dolls, having picnics at the farm and going for walks in their woods. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bev is survived by four children: Kathy and her husband Joseph Fustine, DuBois; Karen and her husband Pat Kalgren, New York; Kerry and her husband Jeff Garthwaite and David R. Johnston both of DuBois; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Yvonne Burt Kear of DuBois.
She was also preceded in death by infant son, Donald D. Johnston; and three brothers: Alvin, Harry and Clarence Rugh; and a sister, Shirley Pyles.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today (Friday) at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel Inc., DuBois. An additional hour of viewing will be held from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Nagele officiating.
Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery, DuBois.
