As Maren's obituary indicates that she immigrated in 1881 and married Chrisitan in 1883, indications are that he was Maren's son from a previous relationship. However, his obituary claims he was born in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1879. So, in short, a discrepancy exists.

By 1940, Holgar and Helen were residing in Manhatten, New York under surname Christenson. His birth place was indicated as New York.
