On 25 Jan 1812, a Wilson County TN property transfer consisting of 109 acres on Hurricane Creek made by William Nash of Rutherford County to Joseph Alsup and Asaph Alsup was recorded in Deed Book K, pp 459-60.
By 1830, the Wilson County tax roll indicates that Joseph Alsup held 285 acres in Captain Lannom's Company, as did William (280 acres), Richard (225 acres), and William H Alsup (149 acres). Asaph and Samuel J. Alsup were also enumerated, but without acreage listed.
Other sizeable property transactions likely attributable to this gentleman include the transfer of 123 acres on Hurricane Creek by George D. Cummings to Joseph Alsup on 27 Mar 1832 (DBP, p38), and one by Jacob Cassilman (Castleman) to Joseph Alsup of 267 acres on Hurricane Creek on 20 Feb 1835 (DBQ, pp49-50).
