He was a 1963 graduate of Chattanooga Central High School, was of the Baptist faith, was a retired SFC Army Guard veteran of more than 25 years and member of 181st Battalion, member of VFW Post 4848 and was a Mason. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a prior Channel 12 cameraman and photographer, worked at Jimmy's Photo Shop and in the Forrest Cate Ford Parts Department.
