William E. Slife, 72, a former plant patrolman at the Frigidaire division, General Motors Corp. died at 5pm Friday at his residence, 232 Steel Ave, after a long illness. He was a native of St. Mary's and was a member of the Memorial Evangelical & Reformed Church, Masonic lodge 147. Services will be conducted Tuesday at the Graham funeral home, by the Rev. E A Puff. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

He was the son of Lewis Hamilton Slife and Eliza F. Fritz Slife.

He married Sara Jane Frieszell Slife. They had the following children:

1. Hester May Slife, June 24, 1900-September 3, 1900
2. Louis Andrew Slife, August 26, 1901-March 26, 1978
3. Catherine Irine Slife Reed, March 12, 1903-April 16, 1939
4. Claude Irvin Slife, April 10, 1905-June 19, 1987
