She was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Frieszell and Ann Elizabeth Teach Frieszell.

Obituary from the Dayton Daily Newspaper:
Mrs. Sarah Jane Slife, 545, of 901 Troy St., died Friday. She is survived by her husband, William Edward Slife, and nine children, Catherine, Daisy, Thelma, Elsie, Barbara, Louis, Claude Irvin Slife, Webster and Walter Slife, 14 grandchildren and a brother, Charles Moore Frieszell. The body will rest in state from 12:30 to 2:30 PM Monday at Memorial Reformed Church. Burial will be in Willowview Cemetery.

She had the following children:

2. Louis Andrew Slife, August 26, 1901-March 26, 1978
3. Catherine Irine Slife Reed, March 12, 1903-April 16, 1939
