Abijah Cole, the son of Jonathan Cole and Judith Brown, was born in Boxford, MA, was baptized 11 Mar 1733 in Bradford, Mass. as the son of Jonathan Cole of Boxford, and died in Harvard, MA 11 May 1768 "a middle aged man." He married in Harvard, MA 3 Mar 1759 Sarah KENT, the daughter of Josiah Kent of Harvard. Following Abijah's death, Sarah m. in Harvard, MA 30 Mar 1772 Samuel Garfield, who was a millwright, and taught his step-sons that trade. Sometime about 1755, while he was still single, Abijah wrote a short will before embarking on a military expedition to Quebec. It reads:

"I, Abijah Cole, having joined a company or regiment for the capture of Quebec, in view of the uncertainty of human life, do give and bequeath to my father, Jonathan Cole, and to my brothers, Jonathan and John Cole, certain lots of land situated in Harvard, and to my friend Sarah Kent, personal property, consisting of a watch and money."

Since Abijah died in Harvard, he is almost certainly buried in this cemetery, where his mother and several siblings are buried, though no marker has been found for him.
