Weston, Texas - Helen Dawson Bean, age 78, of Weston, Texas passed away on December 5, 2004, in Plano, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at the First Christian Church in Weston with Dr. Michael Waco and Rev. John Quick officiating.
She was born on April 24, 1926, in Englevale, Kansas to Thomas E. and Anna Pearl (Karns) Dawson. She married Kenneth E. "Ken" Bean on June 14, 1947 in Arma, Kansas.
Mrs. Bean was a mother and volunteer and a member of the First Christian Church in Weston for 16 years.
She did several thousand hours of volunteer work for the Richardson Medical Center.
She was an excellent grandmother, loved wild flowers, bird watching, experimental cooking, and she traveled to Europe for 30 consecutive years with her loving devoted husband.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth E. "Ken" Bean of Weston, Texas; son, Kenneth C. Bean and wife, Marikay of Weston, Texas; daughters, Terri Ricketts and husband, Wilton of Blue Ridge, Texas and Jana Wilson of Ovilla, Texas; sisters, Aleen Garrison of Pittsburg, Kansas, Gladys Appino of Frontenac, Kansas, and Norma Brown and husband, Bill of Carl Junction, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 2 expected great grandchildren; and numerous cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Dawson; sisters, Dorothy Pugh, Jean Volz, and Goldie Morrell; son-in-law, Charles Wilson.
