NORA SPRINGS
Virginia L. Rethamel, 70, of 1535 Rock Grove Lane, Nora Springs, died Tuesday (Sept. 12, 1995) at her home. There will be no visitation. The body was cremated. Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 North Hawkeye, is in charge of arrangements.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd, with the Rev. Richard Pippert of Nora Springs United Methodist Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers, emorials may be made in memory of Virginia L. Rethamel.

Virginia L. Rethamel was born Dec. 18, 1924, in Rudd, daughter of Garrett H. Brierly and Adda E. Tibbits Brierly. She married Arthur W. Rethamel on Sept. 5, 1948, at the Little Brown hurch, Nashua.

Virginia grew up in the Nora Springs area and graduated from Nora Springs High School in 1942. Before her marriage, she waitressed in Nora Springs and worked for Mason City Tent and Awning. She then was a bookkeeper and secretary for Rethamel Construction for many years. She enjoyed the outdoors. She loved to spend time with her family especially her randchildren and great-grandchildren. She and her husband just celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary.

Survivors include her husband Art Rethamel, Nora Springs; two sons, Don Rethamel and his wife Connie, and Dan Rethamel and his wife Deb, both of Nora Springs; four brothers, Delbert Brierly and his wife Iris; Gale Brierly and his wife Betty; Gordon Brierly and his wife Corrine, and Burton Brierly, all of Nora Springs; one sister, Mary Lou Stoltenberg and her husband Fred, Tripoli; five grandchildren, Jodee L. Rethamel, Mason City; Julie A. Fingalsen, Jamie R. Rethamel, Robin R. Rethamel, and Avery L. Rethamel, all of Nora Springs; two great-grandchildren, Laci Jo Rethamel and Zachery Tanner, both of Mason City; and many other relatives and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Kenneth Brierly and Howard Brierly, and one sister, Etna May Brierly.
