"Nedda Elliott, age about sixty, wife of Howard Garlock of Portlandville, died early Thursday morning of last week in Fox Hospital, Oneonta. She had been afflicted for several years with diabetes and was ill for about two months with gangrene. She submitted to an operation Monday morning for amputation of the leg, but failed steadily. She had resided near Meredith in Delaware county, at Schenevus, Milford, Westville, Portlandville, and in each of these places, because of a cheer disposition and active life, endeared herself to many friends ... Besides her husband, she is also survived by a brother, William Elliott, of Oneonta and a sister, Mrs. Rathbun, residing in Delaware county. Funeral services were largely attended Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock in the Tillapaugh Funeral Home in Schenevus ... Interment in Schenevus cemetery."
