Fayette County - Zettie Mae Prosser Hill Glover, 88, longtime resident of the Somerville Community and wife of the late Clifton Hill and the late Howard Glover died May 12, 2013. Services: 1 P.M. Wednesday at Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with interment in Somerville City Cemetery. Visitation at Peebles from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday. A Christian and devoted to her family, survivors include her daughter, Ann Hill Kelley (Albert) of Somerville; sister, Margaret Hollingsworth of Arlington; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons. Memorials requested to American Heart or Cancer Society. She was 88 years of age and died following an extended illness.
Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Glover were conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday, May 15th at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Mrs. Glover's grandson, Bro. Kevin Treadway, officiating. Personal remarks were given by Bro. John Ed Watkins, Bro. Boyce Wilson, Bro. Thomas Edwards and Bro. Billy Adair. Interment followed in the Somerville City Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes and Cremation Center — Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Glover was born March 6, 1925 in Mason, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tim Jefferson Prosser and Lottie Stafford Prosser. She received her education in the Tipton County Public School System and had been a resident of Fayette County for over 60 years. She was married in 1944 to Clifton Hill, who preceded her in death October 24, 1978. She was later married to Howard Glover, who preceded her in death October 31, 2001.
Mrs. Glover was a devoted homemaker throughout her life and was also employed in earlier years by the Salant and Salant Manufacturing Company and the Master Apparal Manufacturing Company. She was a devoted member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church and she enjoyed cooking for her family and working in her flower gardens with a special love for her roses.
Mrs. Glover will be remembered for the love that she had for her family and her church, praying for them every day. Listening to gospel music was a favorite pastime.
Mrs. Glover was also preceded in death by her son, Jerry Wayne Hill; two sisters, Tamsey Elvira Simpson, Jennie Lynn Golightly; four brothers, John Rice Prosser, Tim Riley Prosser, Eddie Lee Prosser (her twin), Clarence Readis Prosser; her grandson, Jason Wayne Hill; and her great granddaughter, Candice
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Fayette County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, c/o Linda Taylor, 16845 Highway 64, Somerville, TN 38068 or the Shelby County Chapter of the American Heart Association, 2170 Business Center Drive, Bartlett, TN 38134.
