Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be left to Bi State Sportsman Club, Colona and Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island.
Donald was born on November 11, 1935 in Brazil, IN., the son of Everett and Ferrell (Tilley) Love. He married the former Jo Collier in Indiana.
Mr. Love had been a teacher at Rockridge School District for 21 years, retiring in 1994. Donald was a United States Army Veteran.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island, Bi State Sportsman Club, Colona, Amateur Trap Shooting Association, NRA and Waterfowl USA. Donald loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting mushrooms.
Survivors include his wife, Jo; sons, Ric Love, Milan, Kurt (Jill) Love, Andy (Brandi) Love, all of Rock Island; grandchildren, Taylor, Dalton, Hunter, Brytten, Landen, Mason, Hudson and Halle; siblings, Roberta (Johnny) Love Summers, Carbon, IN., John (Joann) Love, Rock Island, Vaughn (Nancy) Love Greenwood, IN. and special family friend, Tim McChesney.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul Love.
