Andrew "Atlee" Barnes, 95, 400 Hales Chapel Road, Gray, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at his home. Mr. Barnes was a Washington County native and a son of the late James Fuller and Nancy Wilmina Barnes.

He retired from Tennessee Eastman Co., Kingsport, in 1980. Mr. Barnes was a member of Gray United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Attie Jenkins Barnes; one daughter, Lola Marvene Hodges; one son, Allen Dean Barnes; two sisters, Thelma Keefauver and Lena Reedy; and one grandson.

Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Cornwell, Gray, and Evelyn Norwood, Biloxi, Miss.; one sister, Glenna Sarver, Johnson City; three granddaughters, Kela Hodges, Gray, Kathy Himibeau, Colonial Heights, Va., and Tina Katz, Biloxi; four grandsons, Mark Norwood, Biloxi, Chris Hodges, Kingsport, Alan Cornwell, Gray, and Kent Barnes, Halifax, Va.; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at the Gray Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Mike Hubble and Rev. Buddy Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Graveside services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.
