Former longtime Wewoka resident Zeake J. Boatman, 90, died Sunday, May 8, at Shawnee Care Center.
He was born Dec. 24, 1914, in Wewoka to Josh and Henryetta Boatman.

Boatman was married to Veda Novella Boatman. She preceded him in death December 20, 1974.

He retired from Lillard Pipe and Supply in Shawnee as a truck driver.

Boatman was a member of the Church of God.

He also was preceded in death by his parents, a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Clara Brown, and a granddaughter, Judy Romano.

Survivors include four sons and spouses, Frank and Jan Boatman of Slayton, Texas, Jack and Joyce Boatman of Shawnee, Pete and Sue Boatman of Amarillo, Texas, Joe and Pat Boatman of Shawnee; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Dewayne Boyce of Eufaula; brother, Henry Boatman of Wewoka; sister, Bertha Hale of Georgia; niece, Alpha Smith of Shawnee; sister-in-law, Louise Boatman of Bethel Acres; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Little Cemetery with the Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
