Walter Porter Walter Porter, 72, 1203 First Ave., Lot 16, South Sioux City, died Thursday in a Sioux City hospital after a long Illness.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home, 1801 Morningside Ave. The Rev. Daniel Q. Johnson of St. Paul's Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Township Cemetery in Holly Springs.

Mr. Porter was born July 15, 1909, in Sloan and was a lifelong area resident. He married Anna Mary Fuller May 23, 1929, in Sioux City. He was a farmer and mechanic.

Survivors Include his wife; one son, Walter J. "Jim" of Denver, Colo.; five daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Charlottte) Britton of Spencer, Mrs. Norman (Betty) Baker Walker of Sioux City, Mrs. Frank (Beatrice) Lilly of Merrill, Mary Ann Jenkins of Little Rock, Ark. and Mrs. Ron (Evelyn) Morgan of Broomfield, Colo.; three brothers, Al of Clear Lake, Francis of Medferd, Minn., and Edwin "Ted" of Dwlght, Kan.; seven sisters, Mae Lowther of Sioux City, Ellen Mahoney and Margaret Allen, both of Missouri Valley, Eva Stueve and Ethel Kelp, both of Emmetsburg, Dorothy McKimmey of Sandwich, Ill. and Marie Cleaver of Blair, Neb.; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren
