Mrs. Ida Thomas Dies Saturday at Keokuk, Iowa
Mrs. Ida Frances Thomas, 82, well known former resident of Blandinsville, passed away at Graham Hospital in Keokuk, Ia., Saturday morning.
Mrs. Thomas had lived in Blandinsville since 1912. For the past 1 1/2 years she made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Worrell, of Hamilton.
Ida Frances Thomas, daughter of Darius H. and Malinda Ann (Pearson) Cox was born Oct. 27, 1872 at Wardsville, Anderson County, Ky. On October 7, 1896 she was married to Wm. M. Thomas. To this union two children were born, Lloyd, who died in infancy, and Analu, who survives.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Margie Hansel of Indianapolis, Ind., and Miss Flora M. Cox, Macomb, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren [sic], two sisters-in-law, Mrs. George Cox of Macomb, and Mrs. James Cox of Fresno, Calif., and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
She had been a member of the Blandinsville Christian Church for many years.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p. m. in Blandinsville Christian church, the Rev. Charles A. Jupin officiating. Max Walters was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. E. J. Laughlin. Burial was in Glade City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Leslie Taylor, George Spainhower, Paris Jobe, Wendell Meek, Harold Waggoner and Ambrose Darrah.
