Funeral Services for Mrs. Britton
Interment for Mrs. Charles A. Britton, St., 67, of Atlanta who was killed Saturday afternoon Feb. 11 in an automobile accident in Jasper County was in the old cemetery in Sandersville Monday afternoon, Feb. 13. at 3 o'clock. Funeral services were held Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock at Spring Hill in Atlanta.
Mrs. Britton who was reared on Smith street here was the former Miss Allie Jones, daughter of the C. Jones and Mrs. Lizzie Taliaferro Jones. Her grandfather was P.R. Talliaferro and live where Mr. Will Talliaferro is now residing on Smith Street.
Mrs. Britton was formerly Mrs. Claude Brewer and she and Mr. Brewer lived in Sandersville for a number of years. their son is William Brewer of Melbourne, Fla.
Following the death of Mr. Brewer, she was married to Charles A. Britton who is now a retired printer.
He worked with the Atlanta Journal for 52 ears. Her stepson is Cal Britton, assistant composing room foreman for the Atlanta Journal and Constitution.
Her sister who was riding with her, Mrs. Roy J. Woodbury, 73, of Atlanta, also was killed. Mrs. Julian Calhoun of Trion, N.C. is their sister.
The ladies are nieces of Mrs. Will Talliaferro and were returning home from a visit with him when the accident occurred.
The accident which took the lives of three ladies was most unusual in that the two cars involved, one had left Sandersville and the was returning to Sandersville.
