Wanda R. Borgwardt, 91 years old of Waterloo, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Waverly Health Center, Waverly, IA, following a short illness.
She was born February 23, 1922, at Worthington, MN, the daughter of Harold Caster and Bessie (Baker) Caster. On her birthday, February 23, 1941, she was united in marriage to Hans F. A. Borgwardt in Worthington, MN.
They moved to a farm near Waterloo where she has live since their marriage. Hans preceded her in death on November 18, 1976.
Mrs. Borgwardt is survived by two sons, Eric (Sharon) Borgwardt of Denver, IA and Paul (Betty Jean) Borgwardt of Parkersburg, IA; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; 9 step great great grandchildren; and one brother, Don (Lorraine) Caster of Minnetonka, MN.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Mark Borgwardt (July 3, 1999) and one step great grandson.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. – Friday, May 10, 2013, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, with burial at Poyner Township Cemetery, rural Waterloo. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
