Julius S. Springs, 85, widower of Rena Morris Springs, died at home Saturday, September 1, 2007.

Mr. Springs was born October 24, 1921 in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Joseph Benjamin Springs and the late Lillie Louark Tanner Springs.

Mr. Springs had retired from International Paper and was a member of the company's Quarter Century Club. He served in the US Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II.

He was a member of Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church, the Fisher's of Men Sunday School Class and the Men's Fellowship.

He was survived by two sons, Jimmy (Vera) Springs and Jerry (Rebecca) Springs, both of Georgetown; two daughters, Burdell (James) Hanna of Asheville, NC, and Angie (Tom) Kelley of Georgetown; a brother, Joe Springs of Pleasant Hill; three sisters, Vymenner S. Hartley and Lorraine S. Guerry both of Jamestown, and Jessie Mae Stone of Summerville; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Philip Springs, J G (Jake) Springs, and S. C. Springs; four sisters, Multry S. Bell, Dewillow S. Sports, Estell S. Baxley and Nola S. Davis.

Funeral services were Tuesday, September 4, 2007, in Georgetown Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, directed by Graham Funeral Home, followed in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
