Until her obit was located: this site was originally based on "Fannie "Patton" (sic) died 6 Feb 1849," per the Washington and Lee Univerisity survey here. It was adjusted to the 28th. Also buried in the same plot, White 16A, #3 was "Mother" died 5 Feb 1849, children S. J. and E. A. Patton (sic).

Inscription
"TO THE memory of our Loved and Honoured Mother who departed this life on the 6 of Feb. AD 1849. Calmly and beautifully(?) looking unto God Is this humble monument erected By Her affectionate and sorrowing Daughters S. J. and E. A. Patton.
Also To the memory of Our infant Sister FANNIE ELLA who died on the ?th of Sept A.D. 1849 Aged 5 years and 9 months. Ye are at rest and we in tears (sic), We shall go to them but they shall not return to us."
