Alice Feast married Charles Dent (Sr) in Littleport, Cambridgeshire, England in February 1812. They had 12 children together from 1812-1833, but then Charles died in 1847. Some of their children decided to emigrate to America, and Alice came with them, in 1852. They settled in the Brady/Vicksburg/Schoolcraft/Prairie Ronde area, married, raised their children and worked their farms. Alice married again to a widower, Reuben Edmunds, in 1854. He died in 1863, and was buried with his first wife in Harrison Cemetery. Alice lived on her own for a while, but then moved in with her grandson, Charles Eli Dent ("CE"), in Brady Township. Their farm was next door to one of Alice's sons, Charles Dent, CE's uncle. Alice died in May of 1880 of "Bilious Fever." I have not been able to find record of her burial place so far. I thought CE's family plot in Vicksburg North was the most likely place. Her son William (CE's father) died about 2 1/2 years earlier, and also has a family plot nearby. His plot is another possibility, but there are several other interments in William's family group, and I don't see any extra space there for Alice. Since she was living with CE, it's likely that he would take care of her burial arrangements. Update: I was contacted by a descendant of CE, who has records that show that the cemetery plot was purchased in 1883, too late for Alice. Since there are good cemetery records for this area during this time, it now seems most likely that Alice was buried on CE’s property where she was living, which was also a common practice during this time period. Hopefully in a favorite, scenic spot!
