Timothy Porter was the son of Hezekiah Porter, Sr. and his wife Hannah (Cowles) Porter.

He married first at Hartford 14 Jun 1716, Miss Mary Pitkin (1689-1724), the daughter of Roger and Hannah (Stanley) Pitkin.

The children born to Timothy and Mary (Pitkin) Porter were: (1) Timothy Porter, Jr. (1717-1783), (2) Moses Porter (1719-1763), (3) Hannah Porter (1720-____) wife of Roswell Judson, and (4) Roger Pitkin Porter (1724-1797).

Timothy Porter married second at the First Congregational Church of East Hartford 05 Jan 1726, the Widow Hannah (Goodwin) Buckland.

Children born to Timothy and Hannah Porter were the following: (1) Caleb Porter (1728-____), and (2) Aaron Porter (1729-1820)

One other child mentioned in Timothy Porter's will was a daughter named Damaris, the wife of Caleb Pitkin, Jr. Which of her father's wives gave birth to her is not known.
