GATE CITY- Henry T. Hammonds, 84, of Rt.1, Manville Community, died at 9:40 p.m. Friday at his home after a lingering illness.
A retired farme, he was a native of Scott County.
Survivors include his widow, Rosa Carter Hammonds daughters, Mrs. Mary Necessary, Clinchport and Mrs. Eugene Snodgrass, Gate City; sons, Charlie Hammonds of Clinchport and Frank Hammonds of Kingsport; a brother, Ike Hammonds, Gate City; two half-brothers, Lloyd and Canary Lane, both of Gate City; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lawson Memorial Church. Burial will be in Hammonds Cemetery.
The body will remain at Scott County Funeral Home.
