In the year 1825, when but 21 years of age, he married Miss Holland, who bore him four children: Oscar Paddock, Pana, Ill., Mrs. Frank Smith, Burlington, Iowa, Mrs. H.H. Sudduth, Waseca, Minn., Mrs. Joseph Cartwright, Dodgeville, Wis. The first wife died in 1845. In the year 1851 he was again married to Mrs. Leantha Hovey who with her two children, Mrs. S.S. Driver and William Paddock survive him.

Ormand Paddock
Died in Darlington, Friday, April 4th, 1884, aged 80 years and one month. The subject of this sketch was born in Woodstock, Vermont, March 5, 1804. In the spring of 1837, he removed to Diamond Grove, Iowa County, about three miles west of Mineral Point, where he engaged in farming until 1867, when he disposed of his farm and moved to Darlington where he has since resided.
Mr. Paddock has been an invalid most of the time since his residence in this city. During his residence in Iowa county he became identifeid with the Presbyterian church and for twenty five years, was a deacon in that church. After removing to this city, there being no Presbyterian church's here, he united with the Baptist society, of which he has since been a faithful and consistent member.
Mr. Paddock was the oldest Mason in the state, having been a charter member of Mineral Point lodge No. , organized under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Missouri, and he was the last survivor of that band of charter members.
Six children survive him among whom is Mrs. Joseph Cartwright of Dodgeville- Darlington Repubblican.

Obituary for Ormond's son Oscar Howland Paddock
Pana, March 27.- O.H. Paddock,one of the oldest and most prominent residents of Pana, died at his home in Springfield, this morning at 8 o'clock after an illness of several months duration.

HIS DESCENT
Oscar Howland Paddock, was born at Woodstock, Vermont, June 21, 1830. He was a lineal descendant of Robert Paddock who settled at Plymouth, Mass. in 1628. His mother was Harrit Howland, a descendent of John Howland, the Pilgrim.

Two sisters survive him, Mrs. Henry H. Suddeth, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Frank P. Smith of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1852 O.H. Paddock was married to Ann Threadgold, a native of Sheffield, England. To them were born thirteen children, ten of whom, six sons and four daugters, survive him. His wife passed away in 1895, at Pana.

IN RAIL EMPLOYEE
In 1857 he entered the employ of the Illinois Central Railroad company at Mineral Point, Wis. and soon after advanced to agent at Warren, Ill. In 1853 he was transferred to Pana, Illinois, as a passenger and freight agent of that road and held that position until 1877, when he resigned to engage in the retail lumber business.
At Pana and Nokomis
From these yards as a nucleus, has grown the O.H. Paddock Lumber Co., with nine yards in the territory surrounding Pana. From 1877 until his retirement from active business, about ten years ago, he was the head and moving spirit in building up the retail business which now bears his name.
SERVED THE TOWN
He served his city in various public capacities as alderman, school trustee and police magistrate. He stood for old fashioned morality and honesty, in private and well as public life, and it was never uncertain where he stood on such questions. He united with the Presbyterian church at Pana during the pastorate of Rev. William P. Gibson, and served the church for many years a Sunday school superintendent, deacon and elder.
FORTY EIGHT-YEARS IN PANA
He made Pana his home for nearly forty eight years and only resided in Springfield during the past two years. Three sons, Charles O., Joseph W., and Robert T., reside at Pana; two sons, Fred O. and John H. reside at Toledo, O.; one son Porter, resides at Springfield. Two daughters, Miss Mary Paddock and Mrs. R Freeman Butts, reside at Springfield; one daughter, Mrs. Charles W. Tomlinson, resides at Cincinnati, O.; and one daughter, Mrs. Gerritt Snidey resides at Pittsburg, Kan.

Services were held from the Presbyterian church at Pana. Interment will be in Linwood cemetery at Pana. The remains will probably arrive in Pana this evening, probably not until tomorrow.

Obituary for Ormond's daughter Frances H. Paddock Driver
Mrs. Frances H. Driver, 85, mother of Earl Driver, former University of Wisconsin football star, died Friday night at the home of her daughter in law, Mrs. Earl Driver, 430 W. Washington ave.

Born in Darlington, Mrs. Driver moved here in 1899. She was a member of the First Baptist church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors are two daughters in law, Mrs. Driver, Madison, and Mrs. Bert O. Driver, Los Angeles, Calif., and two grandchildren, James E. Driver, Madison, and Dorothy Driver, Los Angeles, Calif.

Services will be held at 3:30 pm Monday in the Frautschi funeral home. The Eastern Star chapter will be in charge, and burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert J. Harrington, Howard Erickson, J. A. Buckmaster, A.B. Beecroft, H.H. Van Wagenen, and J.P. Starks.

Obituary for Ormond's Daughter Eliza P. Paddock Sudduth
Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Paddock Sudduth, 88 years old, who died Friday in a Minneapolis hospital following a long illness, will be conducted at 2:30 pm Sunday in Waseca, Minn. Mrs. Sudduth was born in Woodstock, Vermont and was married to Henry Harrison Sudduth in Wisconsin in 1865. Up until 1899 she had lived in Waseca. Since that time she has resided in Minneapolis with her son, W.H. Sudduth, 1781 Logan avenue south. Besides her sons, three grandchildren survive her.

Mrs. Cornelia Cartwright, died Dec. 5, 1902 of penumonia. Her funeral took place on Sunday, Dec. 7, from her late residence in Dodgeville and was attended by the Relief Corps, and Eastern Star Chapter, of which she was a member. Her husband and daughter Cora are left to mourn their loss.
