Asta Mae Williams was the daughter of Robert Martin Luther Williams and Vera Bell Smith. She was the granddaughter of John Evans Williams and Katherine Pendergraft Williams. She had two siblings, Hildred Williams born about 1930, and Robbie L. Williams born about 1936. In 1947 she married Bennie Gee Thomas, son of Ben Thomas and Lula Standard, in Rosenberg, Ft. Bend County, Texas. Witnesses to that marriage were Mildred Walker, sister of the groom, and Willie Vaculik. Gee and Asta Mae had two children, Jannie Nell Thomas, born in 1948, and Adrianne Louise Thomas, born in 1954.
