Charles William MOREHEAD. OF BRASHEAR, DIES, AGED 56

Brashear, Mo., Feb. 18. Charles William Morehead. Resident of Brashear and this vicinity since 1899, died Friday night at 11:45 o'clock in Kirksville where he had been taken for an operation for grangrenous appendix. He underwent an operation Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the U. B. Church here, with the Rev. Mr. McGlashing in charge. Burial will be in the Bullion Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Easley Funeral Home until the hour of the funeral.
Mr. Morehead was born in West Bend, Ky., Nov. 1, 1876, making him 56 years, 3 months and 16 days of age. He was the son of DeWitt and Katherine Hulse Morehead and was a member of a family of thirteen children, all of whom survive.
He came to Missouri in 1899 and located in Brashear, making this vicinity his home since that date. He spent most of his life in farming, but for a time was in the blacksmithing business with the late Col. Vawter.
He was married Oct. 14, 1903, to Miss Myrtle Forquer, and seven children were born, all of whom, with his wife, survive him. The three sons are Cecil Morehead, of Chicago; Marvin Morehead and Walter Morehead, of Brashear. The daughters are Mrs. Blanche Malone, of LaPlata, Fay, Dorothy and Katherine Morehead, all of Brashear. He also leaves two grandchildren.
The surviving brothers and sisters are: James O. Morehead, of Kirksville; Clinton and Jesse Morehead, both of Dayton OH; Albert Morehead, of Lexington, Ky., Clarence Morehead, of West Bend, Ky.; Thomas Morehead, of Osborn, Ohio; Dudley Morehead, of Kansas City; Mrs. Carrie Baker and Mrs. Maggie Eichorn, both of Vici, Oklahoma; Mrs. Myrtle Haddix and Mrs. Emma Everman, both of Lexington, Ky.; Mrs. Frances Rountree, of West Bend, Ky.
Mr. Morehead united with the Missionary Baptist Church at Kidville, Ky. in young manhood and after coming to Missouri changed his membership to the M. E. South Church at Brashear.
