She graduated from Spanish Fork High School and later from Beauty College. LaVerne married Max Holt and they raised their three children in Spanish Fork. She was a beautician in her home for many years. She also worked at Safeway and then at Sears in the sales departments.
She enjoyed Senior Citizens. She and her husband were rock hounds and members of the Timpanogos Gem and Mineral Society. She loved to go line dancing and would dance five times a week. She loved quilting. She has made many, many quilts for her children and grandchildren. Her laughter will be missed by all. She loved puzzles and playing Solitaire. She would play so much that she would wear the spots off the cards. LaVerne loved to travel. It didn't matter where she went; Las Vegas was always "On the Way." Mom loved to gamble.
Survivors include: June (Kay) Harmer; Judy Holt; nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Max Holt, daughter, Maxine Kilpack (Darwin), and siblings, Don Davis, Herb Davis, Alice Kempton, Wanda Hettinger, and great-grandson Dustin Thomas.
The family would especially like to thank the staff at the Hearthstone Manor for their gentle and loving care. They were outstanding!
